Stephen Coan Garden Design accepts a limited number of commissions each season to ensure every project receives the highest level of attention, horticultural care, and hands-on craftsmanship.

Project Availability and Seasonal Openings
Only a handful of landscapes each year are invited to move through The Coan Method™, a deeply considered design, consultation, and installation process that weaves ecology, artistry, and the quiet intelligence of place into a single, living composition.
If your property is calling for transformation, and you’re ready for a landscape that feels alive, layered, and meaningful, the best time to begin is before the season fully books.

Currently half reserved.
Half of the 2026 season has already been claimed by clients who secured their place early to ensure entry into the design queue. Remaining openings are limited. Once filled, new inquiries will transition to a waitlist or to future-season reservation.
Looking Ahead: 2027 Early Reservations
A select number of clients have already secured advance reservations for 2027. These early bookings are typically held for estate-scale gardens, phased ecological rebuilds, or long-duration projects that benefit from early conceptual groundwork.
Only a limited number of 2027 openings will be released. Additional inquiries may be waitlisted for later phases.
Seasonal Timing
Design and planning can begin at any time, but installation and bed preparation are scheduled around site readiness and seasonal conditions. For many spring projects, work is intentionally timed so existing plants have emerged and can be accurately identified before major edits or bed work begins. This seasonal discipline protects long-term performance, supports ecological integrity, and improves establishment success.
